Another Zoo Day

We are LOVING having a family membership to the Dallas Zoo!  It is so nice to go and not feel the pressure of getting it "all in" in one trip with little ones...and it's fun to go with different friends!

Audra had a Monday off from school, so we took advantage of the nice weather and went!  We met our friends, the Pszyk's there.  

We finally were able to see the gorillas, something we've tried but not been successful at on past trips.  We took pictures for Dad...they're his favorite!

I don't know why, but the kids LOVE playing on these elephant statues--or as Whitney says, ef-a-lants.

 The highlight of this trip was the lion encounter we got to see...the trainers went through their behavior training while explaining everything.  It was up close and personal!!  We all agreed it was our favorite part....

 After the lions, we had a restroom and snack break.  Colby wanted to walk everywhere...he is now officially a handful!

After seeing the elephant encounter, (not as neat as the lion one) we moseyed to the kid's zoo area where we had a picnic lunch and then played on the toys and in the water...the girls got SOAKED but loved it!

It was a fun way to spend a Monday!!
